Camtasia

I heard people talking about movie maker but i didn't see anyone making video using movie maker. Camtasia  was introduced to us by our ICT  module tutor.We were taught how to make video using video .I  learned  lots of skills that we need as a teacher while integrating ICT in the classroom. Camtasia is a video recording and editing software, created and published by TechSmith, Camtasia can be used for creating video tutorials and presentations to teach a concept in a classroom. We can record our own voice,face, PowerPoint presentations,software applications, , and Web camera videos .

We were given task to record overall view of our subject in first and to upload in our google classroom.i didn't have idea to edit video though i wished to do.having learned camtasia in next class, i was able to edit my first video because camtasia have the editing software .It can edit different recorded video as a one .

I prepared a power point presentation on topic light travels in a straight.i used animations,pictures and simulation in my power point to gain attention of my students . i recorded a video of ten minutes using camtasia.On the process of recording video,many a times i made a mistake.I could come up with a better video at last with the use of camtasia. I knew how insert   background music to make the  video more attractive for the students. 

There are topics(abstract topic) that need to be taught using videos .If teacher could make their own video explaining the concept through video then students will be inquisitive to learn .Video can be used as a reference wherever students couldn't  understand.it will save teacher time and help students in better learning.having learned about benefits of camtasia i will always look forward to use it in my classroom.

constructive tools

In this 21st century it is important For us to be more constructive.  People knowing how to use computer is not a person using constructive tool.while using computer they need to understand  information, visualize and relate to the expose  new information. For example when preparing Power point the information that needs to add on it should be well organised and  ideas presented should be in attractive formats.  Power Point program,MS Word, MS publisher there  social networking are constructive tools . The simulation of our locality is the best example of constructive  tools and how constructive tools accelerate us to be creative, innovative and intuitive. 

Everyone of us has different way interpreting though we are asked to describe same thing.I feel  lucky to attend the ICT module which prpvided me the opportunity to describe the beauty  of my village.I have designed a beautiful description of my hometown in PowerPoint using pictures of my village with animations.while doing it, it helped me in fostering my creativity.I have come up with beautiful description  of my hometown  which may help to gain attendion of people who plans to visit my hometown.

Making simulation of our locality  enhanced my creation by adding a good animation that appears to be real and apparent. I believe that these features are beneficial to exercise in classroom too. For instance, a teacher can create an advertisement for next topic or activity and can post in Google classroom. This may influence and boost eagerness in learners to learn and perform the content and activity respectively. It will also prepare the learners to know on the topic beforehand. And also it will enthuse school children to learn beyond the ideas reflected in the text

Therefore, in future when we become a teacher, it is important to teach a concept through simulation rather than always doing lecture method because children will be interested learning through new ways.

Reflection

During our school days, our teachers use traditional way of teaching. There were no computers in schools for students in those days. Classroom was fully teacher centered .There wasn't any integration of ICT in classroom those days. Classroom use to bored because teacher will be the one talking and students listening whole day. Whenever we were provided with the task we used to visits library, reads books and seek help from our seniors. There was little opportunity for us to explore. Sometimes we even do not get the information we are seeking for .I still remember when i was in class four i was scared to go to classroom because despite trying hard i didn't complete my work because i couldn't find the information even after going through library book and asking elders. 

Now in this digital world, I could see many schools have available computers in a lap. During my teaching practice i could notice lots of difference in teaching when compared to our days. Schools have computer lap ,teacher carry their laptop in classroom to teach ,students are taken in lap to teach by using ICT .I even used ICT in classroom to teach science (parts of flower,curcit, electricity).i could see my students were learning better when i integrate ict in classrom.They could communicate with each other and understand better.

 We have available laps in our college too .computers in our college is properly used by students for education purposes. Lecturers and student teacher  in our college make   good use of ICT  in teaching and learning . I learn better learning through use of ICT in the class because I could see ,hear, interact when we are taught using ict(videos, pictures)  unlike olden days, we donnot have to fear of not getting information. We can easily get access to information within few mintues without going to anywhere. We can get access to information by sitting on chair and making us of computers. Whenever lecturer provides us with difficult task I now preferred to access the Internet to .explore

Integration of ICT  is not only for teaching, it can be used for discussion and communication .Our classmates  use wechat ,messanger,whatsapp disscussion forum for learning purpose.it is helping us in learning better, besides we could build strong team spirit .Knowing the importance of integration of ICT and its benefits to learners ,I will integrate ICT  in future while teaching .

We were taught the meaning,its importance and process of making blog.I saw people using blog when i scroll down the Facebook but i didn't have idea about it.when sir first introduced about blog in classroom,i remembered reading Passu Diary's and wangcha sangay's blog. I read some educational blog during my leisure time .I never had idea to create blog and use it . I was excited to learn about blog.After sirs' explanation i came to know that, Blog is a discussion or informational website published on the world web consisting of discrete,often informal diary -style text posts.information are displayed in the displayed in the reverse chronological order,with latest posts appearing first.it is platform where an individual share views on an individual subject.

when i first started using blog i was confused about what to write,how to post though our module tutor shared video on creating weblog .we were asked to post something of about three paragraph,in process i faced difficulties to post on fresh page of my blog.I brainstormed on my topic and planned on visual aids that i would use for my topic.I tried to do it by myself by watching the video and i could post something on my blog.Finally i  could write on my blog and i posted pictures related to the topic for better comprehension.

Having learned about creating blog and posting on our blog,I think we as a future teacher should be aware of its usage and importance.blogs play a vital role in teaching and students learning too.teacher can post important notes that are not taught in classroom so that students can read and explore more on it.even if we make mistakes,more knowledgeable people will make correction,there is always platform to edit if we think we need to add and make correction.Students doubt can be cleared by commenting on blog and giving response by teachers.there  are many advantages of using blog.

In our ICT module,we are asked to blog at least three to four times in a month on what we learned by using different representations(videos,pictures,song).i could see i am improving in usage of technology,writing,spelling,writing speed  in the  process of writing something on blog .In future ,I will make sure to  use blog in blog for teaching  and help my students to  maintain blog each.

When we were in schools ,there wasnt any ict facilities that would help in our learning.we have to go to libraby for information.Now in this 21st centuary children are exposed to techonology and it help them in their leaening.many changes have happen compared to olden days.Teacher integret ICT to teach students in a way students wants to learn.

After reaching in college,I was introduced to Virtual learning. Environment  .My knowledge on it was limited because it was my first time hearing it. I never knew Vle would be of great useful to me .of the It  simplify the workloads for both teachers and students.We can submit our assignments,teacher can do grade assignments,We can ask and make clearfication of our doubts online,get notes,announcement are seen and we can get question of past years from Vle.  It was officially introduced as a feature of college and all college students have started using since they get into the Paro College of Education.

Discussion is there for students 

 We donot have to go and meet module tutor to ask doubts .we can easily get connected through it.This app is easily accessible and useable to teachers and students in both face-to-face learning environments and fully online environment. This enables to collect assignments and communications in multiple instructional forms like a discussion with module tutors where we can ask our doubts. Teacher can upload materials for reading. also can upload materials and do not have to go in person. Sometime We teacher cannot each everything in the classroom,for more exploration teacher upload videos for better comprehension.

It can be easily used. We can get the information by login into the class by using the username name from anywhere and anytime. It is not compulsory to use from college area,it will work from anywhere.It is easy to use on any mobile device. Mobile access to learning materials that are attractive and easy to interact with is critical in today’s learning environments. VLE has unlimited storage. We can send our assignments through it .it is much cheaaper because we donot have to spent our time and money for printing.When we were in schools, there wasn't Vle .whenever we have assignments  we have to submit in hard copy which was a burden for parents and students too because printing price is expensive.  

If we could use Vle in our school, it would help our learner in learning .for the first time when we introduced Vle in school students may face difficulty but on the process they will learn a lot. TSo teachers must be very welcoming to any new technology to ensure the best learning.  which I found Vle a important learning tool where students will get all information whe they login into it. Students will get all reading materials in the learning using a virtual learning environment.

PowerPoint

I used to be surprised seeing people using power point when they use powerpoint. I was excited to learn how to prepare a presentation using power point. Whenever my teacher uses his laptop and teaches us using power, I used to be active learner because we get to see relevant examples, videos , nd pictures .I could understand better when my teacher taught using pa owerpoint presentation in the class.I use to wonder how it is being prepared.after reaching in Paro college of education when we were in the first year we were introduced to FIT course.The FIT tutor taught us the basic things that we need to know while preparing a presentation in power point. 

Now , upon reaching in the final year we have a ICT module which is helping us in using ICT in the classroom.i learned how to make a PowerPoint presentation, preparing mil merge,  hyperlinkthe documents, using animations, inserting pictures while making PowerPoint. I knew knowing how to about preparing power point presentation would benefit us because during our teaching we can use PowerPoint presentation to teach the concept by showing them pictures and video relevant to the topic. 


While preparing PowerPoint there are important points we need to keep in our mind. we need to keep the principle of preparing PowerPoint in mind and prepare it. for example, if we write everything on the slide the audience will lose interest .

We need to make seven by six rules; the font should be visible from every corner which can be full field by managing proper color contrast and all.

Use of ICT in teaching learning

we were given task by our module tutor to read about digital native and digital immigrants.i read it thoroughly but was still having doubts.in next class, Our module tutor began the lesson with powerpoint presentation on the use of ICT in the classroom, paradigm shift in educational philosophy, followed by the difference between digital native and digital immigrants.

The sessions were interesting and unique as the information were not merely presented instead we were made to discuss and share our views on  topics before the presentation of the points.

Use of technology in our classroom

From the lesson I have learned that in this 21^st century world the use of ICT in classroom is must as it has lots of advantages for both the teacher and the students. The use of ICT in the classroom can act as a notivating tool for both teaching and learning as it can make the class more dynamic and interesting. It can also improve the engagement of the learners through collaboration. Use of ICT in teaching and learning can be creative as the concept can be taught through various means such as videos, pictoral from and audios. All this will help the students in knowledge retention and individual learning. Moreover, it can also be used to learn important lifeskills for 21^st century.

Difference between Degital native and immagrants

We were also introduced to digital native and digital immigrants. From the lesson I have understood that digital native are the one who are grown up with technologies and who have knowledge on the use of technologies. Digital immigrants are the one who are born without the knowledge of technologies, however they learn to use it later in life. Therefore, children born nowadays are mostly digital native and we are the digital immigrants.
